Well Killing

Services involving well killing include a complex of technologies, which ensure allow to kill wells of any category, including emergency well killing. The operations are carried out with a help of materials and technologies, tried and tested both in remedial works and on free-flow well stock.

*  The technology of damage minimizing well killing consists in creating in the bottom-hole area a block-screen of chemicals, which don’t reduce permeability of the porous environment or create additional hydraulic resistance to the flow from the formation and in the well bore.

* Creating a block screen under significantly lowered reservoir pressure is achieved by the use of inverted emulsions with reduced relative weight or colloid solutions, which lowers hydrodynamic pressure on a formation and allows to perform technological operations using process water.

*  When working in wells with reservoir pressures within hydrostatic values, remedial operations are performed using formation water, treated with a 0.5-50.0% of a chemical agent.

*  Emergency well killing involves a combination of injecting solutions of a chemical agent and calcium chloride and creating backpressure on a formation by using extra heavy compositions.

*  Technologies involving the use of perforation fluids (perforation media) are connected with the necessity to prevent pollution of reservoirs by process liquids in zones between productive formations. The technology consists in injecting combination composite solutions into a well.

Composite solutions, used for well killing, are oil-based or not oil-based and allow to carry out remedial operations involving controlling the density of systems used at anomalous pressure ratio ranging from 0.3 to 2.2 and formation temperatures of up to 1,500 C, irrespective of hydrogen sulphide aggression.
